About The Position

The Pediatric Rehabilitation/Feeding Unit provides 24-hour medical, nursing, respiratory and intensive therapy services. The Neurorehabilitation program treats patients ranging from infants to young adults with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, chronic pain disorders, recovering from orthopedic surgery, and complex medical conditions. This position is 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts, Day (7:00am-7:30pm)/Night (7:00pm-7:33am) rotation.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN or enrolled in a BSN program to be completed within 2 ½ years of hiring date.
  • Current CPR certification that included hands on skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24-hour medical, nursing, respiratory and intensive therapy services.
  • Treat patients ranging from infants to young adults with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, chronic pain disorders, recovering from orthopedic surgery, and complex medical conditions.
  • Perform skills related to: IV insertion, blood draws, trach suctioning, trach changes, mechanical ventilation, central lines, tube feeds through NG/GT/JT/Peg tube, dressing changes, wound vac, positioning, transferring, donning/ removing orthotics, and emergency situations.
  • Provide high quality patient and family-centered care.
  • Utilize effective communication with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide culturally competent care when working with patients and families.
