Requirements

  • Must have successfully completed Block 1 of Nursing School
  • Current Healthcare Provider AHA BLS completion card
  • Enrolled in accredited and/or AZBN approved BSN or Concurrent Enrollment (ADN/BSN) Nursing Program
  • Two letters of recommendation from clinical nursing instructors
  • Be able to work 1-2 shifts per pay period (2-4 shifts per month) as a casual non-benefited employee.
  • Be able to successfully complete the new hire on-boarding process

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized patient care by collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Administer treatments.
  • Monitor vital signs.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Embrace varied nursing tasks.
  • Actively engage in our comprehensive, evidence-based Residency Program, utilizing clinical orientation, practice, and mentorship.
  • Demonstrate a passion for learning and teamwork within a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
  • Assess patients according to standards of care and individual patient needs.
  • Monitor vital signs, lab values and diagnostic tests and reports/acts on abnormal results.
  • Observe the administration of prescribed medications and intravenous solutions and applies medication concepts/theories to Extern patient population.
  • Document clinically relevant assessments, findings, and histories in the patient's record according to hospital protocols.
  • Assess pain level in all patients using "0-10", "Faces", or other approved scale to promote comfort and enable patients to participate in their healing.
  • Identify comfort function goals with patients.
