The Nurse Extern is a member of the nursing team who contributes to the comfort and well-being of the patients by performing specifically assigned tasks and works under the direction of the Registered Nurse within the scope of practice. Our staff have the responsibility, accountability, & authority to provide Safe Passage for our patients and families by utilizing the six dimensions of Relationship Based Care: Resources, Teamwork, Care Delivery, Outcomes, Professional Practice, and Leadership. Requirements

Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with completion of the first semester including fundamentals of nursing course or recent graduate of an accredited program within 6 months.
Current Certified Nursing Assistant licensure in the state of Florida (Preferred).
BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
Two letters of recommendation from a nursing school instructor, one may be from an employer.
For each subsequent semester, must provide evidence (transcript, grade report) of continued enrollment and progress toward graduation as a nurse.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Must be able to work independently.
Must be detail oriented.
Must be alert.
Must be self-motivated.
Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs.
Ability to carry and lift up to 50lbs.
