Nurse Extern I Job Type: PRN | Varied Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Varied (Days or Nights, 7a-7p or 7pa-7a), Work approximately 4 shifts per month, Weekends and Holiday requirement? Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in nursing school and in their first or second semester of the program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
  • Strong critical thinking skills and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while taking appropriate action.
  • Submit a written essay either by uploading it with your application or emailing it to the recruiter at [email protected] within 7 days of applying. What are your long-term nursing career goals and areas of clinical interest?

Responsibilities

  • Performs direct patient care under the direction, delegation and supervision of a registered nurse while monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition appropriately.
  • Maintains positive professional relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and health care team.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
