Nurse Extern I Job Type: PRN | Varied Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Varied (Days or Nights, 7a-7p or 7pa-7a), Work approximately 4 shifts per month, Weekends and Holiday requirement? Requirements
- Currently enrolled in nursing school and in their first or second semester of the program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
- Strong critical thinking skills and sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while taking appropriate action.

Responsibilities
- Performs direct patient care under the direction, delegation and supervision of a registered nurse while monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition appropriately.
- Maintains positive professional relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and health care team.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
