About The Position

The Nurse Educator role focuses on overseeing a specific unit or group, working closely with new staff and preceptors to refine the onboarding process. This position involves delivering educational experiences to small groups within the assigned unit. While not a management role, the Nurse Educator collaborates with leadership and other system educators to achieve organizational and departmental goals.

Requirements

• BSN required.
• RN license in Ohio required.
• Competency in nursing clinical practice applicable to the clinical unit/area assigned.
• Three years of experience as an RN required.

Nice To Haves

• MSN or related field preferred.
• Certification in Professional Development/Education, Leadership or Clinical Specialty preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages new hire orientations for the assigned unit.
• Assesses and develops unit-specific education to meet identified needs, in collaboration with leadership and system resources.
• Serves as an educational resource to the assigned unit, facilitating communication of policy changes and system educational opportunities.
• Provides classroom-style education, huddles, or other delivery methods tailored to the needs of the assigned unit.
• Oversees competency assessments and skills training.
