About The Position

This position is for a Continuing Education Instructor in Surgery at St. Boniface Hospital. The role involves acting as a clinical educational resource for nursing unit personnel, facilitating the learning process, evaluating learning outcomes, and planning, coordinating, and evaluating unit-specific orientation programs in conjunction with the Nursing Director. The instructor will also participate in educational activities within the department, patient care portfolio, and throughout the hospital, and perform other related duties as required/assigned. The position is a full-time, 1.00 FTE, temporary role to cover a maternity leave, with an anticipated start and end date from May 6, 2026, to September 1, 2027. The work arrangement is in-person, with a daily work of 7.75 hours and an anticipated shift of Days.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years recent Surgical nursing experience required
  • Demonstrated ability in communicating with and teaching adults required
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required
  • Current CRNM registration required
  • Successful completion of the BLS Instructor Certificate will be obtained at a time scheduled by the employer or at a time mutually agreed upon between the nurse and the employer required
  • Applicants are required to submit a letter of application including a current resume
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment
  • A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment
