The Nurse Educator is responsible for the coordination and training of Agency staff in the Residential and Day Habilitation departments in relation to medical administration and medical treatment, Agency Clinical Procedures and nursing department protocols. This role fosters a culture of continuous learning and professional development, providing and creating clinical education at Arc GLOW. The Nurse Educator equips staff with the knowledge to effectively perform their job duties in medication administration, care of individuals supported, and guidance on when to contact the nursing department. They will orient staff to clinical policies and procedures regarding medication administration, documentation, and recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms. This position works with the Director of Training and Staff Development on new staff training and continued education, and with the Director of Clinical Services to ensure training materials comply with internal policies and external regulations. Training may be provided outside of the Orientation schedule and at various sites, utilizing oral presentations, demonstrations, and potentially assisting in developing online or new clinical classes. The role involves inputting and tracking education classes, participating in quality assurance and compliance activities, and supporting the mission of Arc GLOW through operational excellence. With approval, the Nurse Educator may assist with nursing duties as needed.
