About The Position

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a Nurse Educator for Behavioral Health. This role focuses on supporting all Behavioral Health nursing units as needed, under the direction of leadership. The Nurse Educator oversees a focused unit or group, working closely with new staff and preceptors, and continuously assessing the onboarding process. They deliver educational experiences to small groups for the assigned unit. While not managing staff, this role requires collaboration with leadership and networking with Professional Development and other system educators to achieve organizational and department goals. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with day shift hours from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The starting pay is $36.90/hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience. An additional $4.70/hr shift differential is available for the Evenings shift.

Requirements

BSN required.
RN license in Ohio required.
Competency in nursing clinical practice applicable to the clinical unit/area assigned.
Three years of experience as an RN required.

Nice To Haves

MSN or related field, preferred.
Certification in Professional Development/Education, Leadership or Clinical Specialty, preferred.
Pediatric experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

Develops and manages new hire orientations for assigned unit.
Assesses and develops unit-specific education to meet needs, collaborating with leadership and system resources.
Serves as an educational resource to the assigned unit.
Facilitates communication of policy changes and system educational opportunities impacting the assigned unit.
Provides classroom-style education, huddles, or other methods of delivery of education targeting the needs of the assigned unit.
Oversees competency assessments and skills training.
