About The Position

The primary objective of this position is to coordinate the delivery of high-quality patient care, enhance acute nursing staff performance, promote staff competency and ultimately patient satisfaction. This includes, but is not limited to, the direct supervision of Acute staff, promotion of quality improvement and patient safety programs, nursing and patient education activities and competency checks. Reviews nursing operations to ensure compliance with established standards. Additional duties may include providing evaluations for Acute staff, writing and updating policies and procedures, and coordination of staffing and scheduling of acute care nursing staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Current RN license from the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Current CPR (AHA) certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of acute care nursing experience required with a Master's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Responsible to understand and capable of implementing duties within the scope of rules and regulations of the Oregon State Board of Nursing and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • General nursing skills with demonstrated proficiency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of 500-hour probationary period.
  • Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen required upon conditional job offer.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in nursing or a related healthcare field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Current CPR, ACLS, NRP, FHM, ENPC and TNCC certification preferred.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification, Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification, and ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification as soon as available after hire.
  • One (1) or more ED and/or OB experience preferred.
  • One (1) or more years of clinical supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Provide leadership within complex and rapidly changing clinical environments.
  • Demonstrate positive and compassionate attitude toward patients and their families.
  • Prioritize care appropriately.
  • Recognize and differentiate normal and abnormal patient assessments and conditions.
  • Provide effective education for patients, nursing staff and families.
  • Ability to speak in front of large groups.
