Nurse Coordinator (RN) Med/Surg
About The Position
Join our team in a 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Physicians, Advanced Practitioners, Registered Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. With a 6:1 ratio, you will play a crucial role in assessing patient’s needs, administering treatments and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Requirements
- Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities
- Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations.
- Identifies and resolves issues affecting delivery of clinical services and patient flow.
- Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of QA/QI initiatives.
- Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts regarding clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
- Monitors departmental compliance with accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission requirements.
- Provides direct patient care as needed in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
