About The Position

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Nurse Consultant II to join their Health Service Regulation division. This role is responsible for supervising team members, coordinating survey activities, and determining compliance levels of nursing homes with federal and state requirements. The position involves coaching and guiding staff on survey procedures and compliance decisions. This is a home-based position covering nursing homes in the Western part of NC, specifically in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties. The Nurse Consultant II is expected to spend an average of three days per week conducting inspections in nursing homes, with occasional inspections required on weekends and night shifts. The Division of Health Service Regulation is dedicated to ensuring the safety and quality of care in medical, mental health, and adult care facilities, as well as emergency medical services and local jails.

Requirements

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina
Two years of clinical experience in the area of specialization
