Ready to take your nursing education beyond the classroom? Join Altru's 10-week RN Co-Op/Internship Experience and gain hands-on clinical experience while working alongside experienced nurses in a supportive healthcare environment. This paid summer internship is designed to help nursing students build confidence, strengthen clinical skills, and prepare for a successful transition into professional nursing. Participants will work one-on-one with dedicated preceptors and have opportunities to perform skills aligned with their academic preparation and demonstrated competencies.

Requirements

Currently admitted and enrolled in an accredited four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
Completion of at least two semesters of clinical nursing coursework
Strong academic standing
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Enrollment in a summer educational work experience credit/course if required by your nursing program
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

Provides patient care activities appropriate to educational preparation and demonstrated competence.
Works closely with assigned RN preceptor(s) to build clinical skills and confidence.
Participates in patient assessments, care planning, and care delivery as appropriate.
Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Follows organizational policies, safety standards, and professional nursing practices.
Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to learning.
