This position involves providing competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Texas Nurse Practice Act. The role requires an experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled individual in a specialty area, functioning effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Practice is characterized by predominantly interdependent decision-making, problem-focused, and patient-centered care. The Nurse Clinician is expected to manage unexpected or emergency situations commonly seen in the assigned specialty population and serve as a resource for Nurse Clinician I or II. The role involves managing commonly seen contingency situations on the clinical unit and providing patient care based on the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance. The position also requires an understanding and support of specialty unit, nursing, and institutional strategic initiatives and health system goals.
