University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 75% Nurse Clinician to work for the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center with the Benign Hematology team. The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center is dedicated to bringing world-class research and cancer care to Iowa, the Midwest, and beyond. It is Iowa's only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center and has held that designation since 2000. The center also holds accreditations with the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and the Commission on Cancer (COC). The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Mission Statement is to decrease the pain and suffering caused by cancer in Iowa, surrounding communities, and around the world through improved cancer prevention and treatment based on three interdependent missions of research, clinical service, and education. This is accomplished in a multidisciplinary approach where nursing staff are valued members of the team. The role functions as a clinical expert and care coordinator for a specific patient population, interfacing with administrative, clinical nursing staff, physicians, and patients/families.
