The purpose of the Registered Nurse Clinician is to provide medically prescribed infusion therapy to patients with acute and chronic conditions. The Registered Nurse Clinician will work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team in an ambulatory infusion clinic setting. They will effectively utilize the nursing process to assess and care for patients, providing comprehensive nursing care in a professional, ethical, knowledgeable, and compassionate manner. Responsibilities include providing disease and drug-specific education to patients and caregivers, complying with HIPAA and ACHC regulations, participating in on-call rotation as assigned, traveling to outlying clinics as needed, and maintaining knowledge of medical/nursing practices by participating in educational in-services. The role also involves accurately performing all nursing duties according to the state nurse practice act while adhering to company policies and procedures, including accessing and maintaining central lines and PIVS, obtaining lab specimens, collecting vital signs, safely administering intravenous and injectable medications as ordered by prescribing physicians, documenting patient care, responding to and accurately reporting adverse drug reactions, and assisting with administrative duties as needed.
