This is an open-pooled position. Applicants' education/experience will be considered and the position may be filled at a lower or higher level, as appropriate. The Nurse Clinician II is a competent clinician who possesses the knowledge and skill necessary to meet nursing standards for professional practice specified in the Texas Nurse Practice Act without supervision. They recognize when assistance is needed and seek appropriate resources. Their practice is characterized by a balance of independent decision-making, with a focus on expanding knowledge and skills for the specialty area. They provide patient care through nursing-based practices upon the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance, and value specialty unit, nursing, and institutional strategic initiatives and health system goals. The Nurse Clinician III is a proficient clinician who possesses the knowledge and skill to meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Texas Nurse Practice Act. They are experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled in the specialty area, and competently function as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Their practice is characterized by predominantly independent decision-making, is problem-focused and patient-centered, and they are able to manage unexpected or emergency situations commonly seen in the assigned specialty population. They serve as a resource for Nurse Clinician I or II and can manage commonly seen contingency situations that arise on the clinical unit. They provide patient care through nursing practices based upon the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance, and value specialty unit, nursing, and institutional strategic initiatives and health system goals.
