About The Position

This position is located at Winn Army Community Hospital, Fort Stewart, Hinesville, GA. Winn Army Community Hospital is a 112-bed community hospital which will feature a new Women’s Health and Mammography Center. Our healthcare team provides primary and specialty care for a patient population of over 70,000. As a civilian family practice physician you will play an integral role in providing exceptional healthcare to the Soldiers and Families in our great Army and the 3rd Infantry Division. Key supporting specialties at Winn include OB/Gyn, general and orthopedic surgery, EENT, Psychiatry, Dermatology, and Urology. Enjoy the benefits of a full inpatient and outpatient EMR with digital radiography. Located in Coastal Georgia you can enjoy good schools, new industry and community growth, and exceptional coastal recreation and golf in the local area. Requirements

  • US Citizens
  • A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.).
  • A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and you must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
  • Graduates of foreign nursing schools must have completed the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools Certification Program. The certification program consists of a credentials evaluation, the CGFNS Qualifying Exam, and evidence of passing one of the approved English Language Proficiency examinations. A copy of the CGFNS Certificate is required.
  • A diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program and possession of at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or above) which includes providing nursing care to ambulatory patients, administering or preparing medications and providing education to patients or nursing staff.
  • A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent, comprehensive telephone and clinical triaging, and facilitate care coordination through a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Assist health care providers with examinations and procedures.
  • Assist clinic with patient and staff education including clinic orientation.
  • Ensure staff compliance with maintenance of competency folders in accordance with hospital and Joint Commission standards.
  • Prepare and administer oral, subcutaneous, intra-muscular and intravenous medications.
