Nurse C - Nurse Supervisor
About The Position
Under the direction of the Manager, Primary Health Care, this position oversees a range of Primary Health Care programs and a multidisciplinary team including professionals and paraprofessionals, ensuring smooth operation of those programs, providing supervision and direction for the staff, and consultation on complex health issues. The programs provide direct services in health promotion, community development, disease prevention, intervention, diagnosis and treatment for aggregates, groups, families and individuals in the community. Primary Health Care programming is based on the circular model of holistic health care. Populations of each network will vary thus the service provision will reflect the uniqueness of each network based on their socio demographics, determinants of health and their demonstrated health care needs. The supervisor works collaboratively with internal and external partners and advisory committees to meet the needs of the community.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Organizational skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Conflict resolution skills
- Min three years’ experience in public health or community based nursing required
- One year exp/demonstrated ability to work with complex chronic pain patients
- Knowledge in principles/practices/concepts of primary health care
- Knowledge in Public Health Concepts
- Knowledge in the principles of Population Health Promotion
- Knowledge of Primary Health principles and practices
- Knowledge in adult education principles, methods and tools
- Proficient in the operation of word processing, spreadsheet and power point
- Ability to refer to, network, and work cooperatively with community agencies
- Effective leadership including planning, supervising & directing work of others
- Knowledge in community development and facilitation strategies
- Uses knowledge of determinants of health in interactions with clients.
- Proven skill in program or project planning and evaluation.
- Ability to develop programs
- Ability to promote healthy lifestyles with diverse populations
- Ability to be flexible
- Ability to be innovative and creative
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate with community agencies
- Ability to plan/organize/coordinate with other multidisciplinary team members
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate good staff morale
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

- Advocates delivery of culturally safe, responsive & people-centered healthcare
- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a vehicle available for work.
