About The Position

As a Nurse Assistant (NA) at MercyOne, you will be a vital member of the healthcare team, working under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse. Your role will involve providing holistic, compassionate, individualized, and effective patient care by assisting patients with their daily living activities. You will also attend to their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, aligning with the Mission of MercyOne, the Vision of Patient Care Services, evidence-based standards of care, and established policies and procedures.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age (child labor laws applicable to minors under 18; may be required to be 18 in some areas).
Meet at least one of the following requirements: active on the Iowa registry (required for long term care nurse assistants in Iowa, and nurse assistants who work in Illinois or Wisconsin are required to be on their respective state’s registry), proof of completion of 75-hour CNA course, proof of EMT Certification, or proof of formally holding (and completed training for) a medical occupation specialty from the military (current or former).
Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
