About The Position

Provides and assists in quality patient care in the Medical/Surgical Services, Telemetry, ED, ICU and various patient care units and Division under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic patient care skills, clinic procedures, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of appropriate emergency care for role (i.e. chest compressions, dialing 911)
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Possess written and verbal communications skills
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Build collaborates relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of dialysis water quality per AAMI (American Academy of Medical Instrumentation) Standards
  • Capable of providing necessary immediate interventions managing dialysis complications, as allowed by scope of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and assists in quality patient care in the Medical/Surgical Services, Telemetry, ED, ICU and various patient care units and Division under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.
  • Follow instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Explain patient care information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
  • Prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
