About The Position

Provides direct and indirect care for the residents as a caregiver and dispenser of medications. Communicates with the residents, family, departmental staff, and visitors. Adheres to and conveys the facility’s philosophy of maintaining elements of self-care and encouraged independence. Demonstrates an appreciation of the heritage, values, and wisdom of the resident and understanding of the aging process. Maintains accurate, complete, and confidential resident records according to established procedure. Works collaboratively with peers and other team members Uses tactful, diplomatic communication techniques in potentially sensitive or emotionally charged situations. Will remain calm in emergency situations. Maintain appropriate noise levels. May assist with the Dietary department as needed or instructed. Reports needed repairs for the Engineering department. Participates in shift change and gives and receives a thorough and accurate report. Reports on resident family concerns to the Shift Nurse and Director of Residential Care (DRCS). Maintains neatness and cleanliness of the facility including working stations and common areas. Takes and records vital signs as ordered and as needed or instructed by the Shift Nurse. Notifies the Shift Nurse or Oversight RN of abnormal vital signs. Notifying the Shift Nurse, Oversight RN, and DRCS when a resident becomes ill or injured. Observes and reports to the Shift Nurse and Oversight RN any changes in the resident’s physical or mental status. Assist in all care of the residents as needed. Complete all required resident charting including digital and paper formats. Thoroughly completes incident reports and enters them into the Health Care Safety Zone when applicable. Turns in complete and accurate supporting documentation to the DRCS for review and follow up.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) in the State of Washington.
  • Nurse Delegation Core and Diabetic Certification.
  • Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean, wears identification while on duty.
  • Completes annual District-required and/or job-required educational requirements.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Attends staff meetings annually and/or reads and returns all meeting minutes.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
  • Maintains employee/patient confidentiality.
  • Represents the District in a positive and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates the mission, vision, ethics, and goals of the facility as well as the departmental Scope of Service.
  • Communication with patients, residents, guests, family, and staff is courteous, respectful, and helpful.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and accident-free environment.
  • U.S. citizens and lawfully authorized non-U.S. citizens.

Nice To Haves

  • Assisted Living required certifications: Mental Health, Dementia, Developmental Disabilities.
  • One (1) year experience assisting with or administering medications under Nurse Delegation in an Assisted Living setting.
  • Proficiency with Point Click Care E-Mar documentation.
