The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides comprehensive anesthesia care—including general anesthesia, procedure-related sedation, and regional techniques—in collaboration with a medically directed anesthesiologist who is directly available throughout the anesthesia course. The role determines age-specific anesthesia plans, from neonatal through later adult, before induction and communicates effectively throughout each anesthetic episode. The CRNA applies theoretical concepts in clinical practice, continually develops anesthesia knowledge and skills, and uses discretion and independent judgment in delivering whole-person care. The position follows the CRNA scope of practice, LLUMC policies and protocols, applicable techniques and guidelines, and state and federal regulations. The CRNA promotes excellent customer service, safe patient care, professionalism, and a caring, cooperative work environment among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Services may be provided at LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Loma Linda University Health is a Seventh-day Adventist, faith- and values-based Christian institution.
