Brigham and Women’s Hospital is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join the anesthesia team at the Foxborough Surgery Center. This position offers the opportunity to practice anesthesia in a well-run outpatient surgical environment while maintaining an exceptional work–life balance. The role features a predictable weekday schedule with no call, no nights, no weekends, and no holidays. The center includes four operating rooms with fast turnovers and a focused ambulatory case mix, primarily orthopedic procedures, with additional urology, plastics, and straightforward general surgery. CRNAs practice within the anesthesia care team model, working alongside anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and surgical technologists. CRNAs in this position will be credentialed for both Foxboro and BWH main campus. The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is responsible for the pre-operative, intra-operative, and immediate post-operative care of the patient requiring anesthesia for surgical, medical, therapeutic, or diagnostic procedures. This includes pre-operative assessments, anesthetic care plans, assembly and care of specialized equipment; application, insertion and interpretation of data from anesthetic monitors; airway management; delivery of general, regional anesthesia, and monitored anesthetic care; induction, maintenance, and emergence of the patient; care of the patient in the immediate post-operative setting; and post-operative assessments in collaboration with a physician member of the Department of Anesthesiology. CRNAs also fulfill a teaching function for Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists from Northeastern University and Boston College. Clinical research may be available as an adjunct for interested CRNAs, but it is not a department requirement. All CRNAs must comply with federal, state, hospital, and departmental guidelines.
