About The Position

Marian University is seeking a Nurse Anesthesia Doctor of Nursing Practice – Adjunct Faculty to promote its Catholic Franciscan mission and identity. This role involves assisting in teaching assigned courses in the Nurse Anesthesia Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) graduate program. Candidates who do not currently possess a doctoral degree but are experientially qualified and/or enrolled in a doctoral program with an expected degree completion within 12-18 months of application will be considered.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Marian University.
  • Doctoral degree in nursing or related field from an accredited institution strongly preferred (PhD, DNP, DNAP). Candidates with experiential qualification and/or current enrollment in a doctoral program or current enrollment in program with expected completion within 12-18 months of application may be considered.
  • Graduate degree from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).
  • Two years of experience as a CRNA.
  • Current Certification or recertification as a CRNA by the NBCRNA.
  • Evidence of current clinical practice.
  • Current member of AANA.
  • Current RN/ APRN licensure in state of residence.
  • Eligibility for IN RN license.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Competency in MS Office product.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • Coordinate assigned courses in the Nurse Anesthesia Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, in accordance with the teaching workload policies of LSON.
  • Teach assigned areas of content in courses throughout the curriculum of the DNP program, consistent with areas of knowledge, skill, and department needs.
  • Provides student feedback to assist with meeting performance expectations in both verbal and written format and construct action plans.
  • Completes course evaluations for any course taught to provide feedback for revisions and to promote continuous improvement of the DNP program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
