About The Position

This role is part of an ongoing apprenticeship where the Nurse Aide in Training will provide support to Certified Nursing Assistants, household(s), and residents, with the goal of becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) upon successful completion of an approved NATCEP. This care will be performed in accordance with TANDEM LIVING Core Values, Mission Statement and regulations. Tandem Living is proud to participate in Pennsylvania’s healthcare apprenticeship initiative, made possible through a grant-funded partnership with ASHLIN Management Group and Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC). This program provides individuals with an opportunity to begin their healthcare career while gaining valuable education and hands-on training. Program costs are covered through state-approved grant funding in partnership with Tandem Living. Participants are hired by Tandem Living prior to the start of the apprenticeship program and are paid while attending class and completing required training.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Willingness to obtain Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Certification.
Must complete (or have completed) an approved Instructor-Led Nurse Aide Training Program.
Responsible for obtaining Nurse Aide Certification and registering with the PA Nurse Aide Registry within 120 days of course completion.

Responsibilities

Assists with non-direct care Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as nail care, passing linens and water, changing bed linens, gathering supplies, and stocking.
Communicates and coordinates with Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) on the assigned household(s).
Supports daily and ongoing resident activity programs, including one-on-one engagement and social visits with residents.
Assists with light housekeeping duties, such as organizing, removing trash, and handling soiled linens.
