About This Role Reporting to the Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program Manager, the Nurse Aide Instructor works on the Workforce Development Team supporting Care Pathways. The Nurse Aide Instructor supports workers in Oregon homecare, skilled nursing facilities, other long-term care settings as they take their CNA training, and work toward certification and job placement in order that workers can thrive in their careers. The Nurse Aide Instructor is part of a team of professionals who help deliver the Oregon State Board of Nursing approved curriculum to CNA students. This position is also responsible for coordinating with the Workforce Development Team, and other key partners, to work directly with students and provide instruction virtually and in-person toward achieving their professional goals. While each RISE employee is assigned to a specific team, we operate within a collaborative shared services model that encourages cross-departmental support. Some employees contribute to multiple teams, allowing us to leverage resources more efficiently. This structure enables our staff to focus on delivering high-impact programs that advance our mission, ensuring every resource is used strategically to drive meaningful change.

Requirements

  • Hold a current Oregon Registered Nurse(RN) license;
  • 1+ years experience in a long-term care facility:
  • Technology and Digital Fluency (See above).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with Oregon State Board of Nursing regulations, Division 61 and 62;
  • Experience instructing a hybrid curriculum;
  • Experience navigating training systems, online learning management systems, and other learning technologies;
  • Work experience in supporting low-income, immigrant, LGBTQ, BIPOC or other marginalized frontline workers;
  • Experience collaborating with training providers, employers, unions, state agencies, nursing boards and community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to Federal and State guidelines for programming.
  • Follows current Oregon State Board of Nursing regulations regarding Nursing Assistant Training and Certification Programs (Div 61 and 62);
  • Provides classroom, lab, and clinical instruction for Nursing Assistant students using a collaborative teaching model, including lecture, demonstration, skills practice, and clinical patient care;
  • Provides content and communication support for online learning in accordance with OSBN regulations;
  • Delivers curriculum content and facilitates active learning that integrates theory and practice;
  • Evaluates student performance in classroom, lab, and clinical settings, including formal skills and competency assessments;
  • Prepares students for state Nursing Assistant certification exams, including written and skills testing;
  • Provides timely, individualized feedback to guide student learning, progression, and successful program completion;
  • Follows workflows and standard operation processes (SOPs).
  • Establishes and maintains a caring, inclusive, and respectful learning environment that promotes active learning, critical thinking, and student engagement;
  • Manages classroom, lab, and clinical learning activities, including scheduling, attendance tracking, skills practice logistics, and coordination with clinical partners;
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of student progress, competencies, attendance, and outcomes in organizations and nursing program and certification systems;
  • Communicates effectively with students regarding expectations, performance, feedback, office hours, and program requirements;
  • Navigates and resolves student issues within the classroom;
  • Reviews program satisfaction reporting related to instruction and takes action to address concerns;
  • Follows workflows and standard operation processes (SOPs).
  • Protects sensitive and confidential information;
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation, case notes, and outcome data in required databases and case-management systems securely;
  • Monitors data quality and completeness and addresses routine discrepancies or gaps in documentation;
  • Supports program reporting and compliance by compiling, validating, and submitting required data, documentation, and insights for funders, partners, and leadership;
  • Identifies documentation or data trends that may impact program performance, reporting, or compliance and escalate issues as appropriate;
  • Supports continuous improvement of documentation practices and data workflows in coordination with program and systems staff.
  • Actively engages in one-on-one meetings, team meetings, professional development, and continuous improvement activities, and contributes ideas to strengthen team effectiveness and program quality;
  • Maintains assigned program requirements while coordinating with Workforce Development and RISE teams to support broader program outcomes;
  • Collaborates with workforce partners, training providers, employers, and internal teams to support participant success and achievement of program goals;
  • Coordinates across teams to ensure services are aligned, information is shared, and participant needs are addressed in a timely manner;
  • Provides support, as assigned, and help ensure smooth coordination of services across program areas.
