The Nurse Aide Level I and Level II Instructor is responsible for the classroom and lab instruction of Nurse Aide I and II courses in compliance with standards set forth by the College as well as the North Carolina Division of Facility Services (DFS) and the North Carolina Board of Nursing. The duties include teaching state-approved Nurse Aide I and II curriculum, potentially in an online format, maintaining accurate documentation and records, preparing student progress reports, maintaining a safe classroom environment, interacting with clinical sites, assisting with lab and clinical facilitation, maintaining inventory of supplies, staying current with teaching field information and skills, assisting in student recruitment, working cooperatively with staff, participating in training, and following college policies and procedures. The role also involves demonstrating mastery of subject matter, organizing instruction to maximize student learning, employing appropriate teaching strategies, modifying methods for diverse learners, using instructional technology, encouraging communication and higher-order thinking skills, assisting in the development of instructional materials, preparing students for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program Examination (NNAAP) and progression to the Nurse Aide II Training Program, communicating effectively, learning and using technology, functioning as faculty, implementing and assessing student learning outcomes, performing assessments of student skills, and evaluating student performance fairly. Additionally, the instructor will establish and follow learning objectives, develop methods to measure student progress, evaluate student performance, maintain accurate records, and demonstrate sensitivity to student needs.
