About The Position

This position is for individuals looking for a career in healthcare who are interested in attending paid C.N.A. training. The Nurse Aide in Training is responsible for providing routine daily nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. The goal is to ensure patient safety and help patients attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Currently enrolled in a State-approved CNA program
CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as willingness to handle difficult patients
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the post-acute care facility
Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the nursing department
Proficient in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
Ability to maintain professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
Ability to understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
Ability to display integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
Ability to lift 35 lbs. floor to waist, lift 35 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 35 lbs., and push/pull 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

Providing routine daily nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Assuring patient safety and attaining or maintaining the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each patient.
Assisting patients with baths, showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toileting.
Accurately documenting and charting patient care.
Responding to call lights promptly.
Assisting in the evacuation of patients.
Demonstrating dependable, regular attendance.
Concentrating and using reasoning skills and good judgment.
Communicating and functioning productively on an interdisciplinary team.
Reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
