About The Position

The Nurse Administrator and Educator provides clinical leadership and oversight of patient care services for the wound care and hyperbaric program, including case management, comprehensive chart review, utilization management, and discharge planning. This role partners with clinical and operational leadership to ensure high-quality, efficient patient care delivery while supporting program performance, regulatory compliance, and patient outcomes. This individual will also lead and support clinical training initiatives for new and existing staff, including hands-on competency validation, on-site and virtual education, and ongoing clinical development. This position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) from an accredited school or college of nursing.
  • Current state licensure; no restrictions to obtain RN license in additional states.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from approved agency.
  • 2+ years wound care experience required.
  • 2+ years clinical training experience required.
  • Experience in course development and creation of training tools required.
  • Deep understanding of charting, billing and insurance authorizations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or related systems.
  • Proficient in a minimum of one EMR system.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to treat others with compassion and patience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • CWS, WCC, WOCN and/or CHRN certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy preferred.
  • Experience in outpatient clinic and/or hospital operations preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, particularly SharePoint preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and adheres to established wound care and hyperbaric protocols, patient qualification criteria, and staff readiness; ability to practice as required.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive chart reviews to ensure patients meet clinical and payer criteria for treatment prior to scheduling.
  • Provides clear, actionable feedback to clinical staff and providers to correct documentation and ensure compliance with medical necessity requirements.
  • Partners with the HR & Training department on new hire training to provide educational assistance as needed. Requested clinical training may be remote or in-person.
  • Works closely with CNO and Program Directors to identify training needs for current staff. Creates appropriate training material/courses and educational aids. Provides training virtually or in-person.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness and supports training efforts by monitoring improvements in documentation quality, authorization success rates, and overall individual and/or clinic performance; responds, adjusts and retrains as needed.
  • Builds strong, collaborative relationships with Program Directors and clinic teams, serving as a trusted resource to support clinical and operational success.
  • Travels to wound centers across the U.S. to support on-going clinical education, coach and develop nursing staff, and to cover clinical shifts if/when required.
  • Supports new clinic openings with education and training as requested by the CNO.
  • Works closely with Program Directors and clinical leads to provide hands-on support in patient scheduling, chart reviews, and workflow optimization, ensuring alignment with clinical standards and operational goals.
  • Responsible for staying up to date on the standards of care related to wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (local coverage determinations/LCDs) and education of such.
  • Collaborates with Revenue Cycle to proactively prevent denials and resolve authorization-related issues.
  • Creates and/or updates clinical procedures for new and existing staff to adhere to. Communicates and trains on procedures as required.
  • Maintains close coordination with all departments to ensure continuity and collaboration of services.
  • Ensures compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) by safeguarding patient information and maintaining the highest level of confidentiality standards.
  • Maintains efficient and effective clinical operations while verifying compliance with all local, state and federal regulations, standards and protocols.
  • Consistently adheres to company, hospital, and accrediting body clinical, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
