About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Team Manager, the MOP Coordinator manages and coordinates day to day operations of the Manitoba Ostomy Program to ensure provision of quality nursing care to individuals with ostomies in Manitoba. In collaboration with the Team Manager and other stakeholders, ensures that clients receive care that is evidence based and that team members adhere to best practice for enterostomal nursing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Community Care or Long-Term Care with a focus on caring for seniors preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a functioning ET nurse.
  • Bachelor of Nursing required.
  • Canadian Association Enterostomy Therapy (CAET) certification.
  • CRNM registration.
  • CAET registration.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to be a positive role model for staff and students.
  • Ability to support and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management or previous Coordinator experience an asset.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
