About The Position

This role involves planning, developing, and coordinating in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers. The trainer will obtain information needed to prepare these programs, prepare training materials, develop course content, determine methodologies, and coordinate the development of training aids. They will also conduct training sessions, develop criteria for evaluating training effectiveness, and continuously revise lesson plans to meet new training requirements and keep technical information up-to-date. This position may utilize trainers with technical expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of exempt experience; OR Master's degree and 1 year of exempt experience.
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate may be used as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
  • High school and 5 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience may be used as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
  • Graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School may be used as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
  • 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience may be used as equivalent to the number of exempt years of experience required, in addition to the education requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with Nuclear System Cleanliness and Controlled Material requirements
  • Knowledge and experience with Steam Plant systems
  • Knowledge and experience with Radiological Controls
  • Knowledge and experience with Mixed Waste and/or GDOT
  • Currently or formally qualified Article 108 Radiological Controls Technician (RCT)
  • Advanced computer skills (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Captivate, etc.)
