About The Position

We're looking for a Sr. Nuclear Outage Mechanical Planner on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment. The Senior Nuclear Planner is an important technical position responsible for developing comprehensive work packages for maintenance, modifications, and surveillance activities at nuclear power facilities. You should have advanced planning expertise, technical knowledge of nuclear systems, planning initiatives that ensure safe, efficient, and compliant work execution. You will report to the onsite Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Associate's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field, or equivalent 10 years plant experience in a technical field.
  • Minimum 7+ years of nuclear power plant experience, with at least 4 years in maintenance planning or equivalent technical role
  • Demonstrated progression in planning responsibilities and complexity of work assignments
  • Fluent in ISI, IST, ASME Sect XI, ANI, ANII, Weld Travelers

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related science

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed work order task descriptions, including step-by-step instructions, material requirements, tool lists, and post-maintenance testing requirements
  • Plan complex maintenance activities including ASME Section XI work, ISI/IST programs, and modification packages
  • Ensure work packages comply with regulatory requirements, technical specifications, and plant procedures
  • Coordinate clearance requirements and equipment isolation strategies with Operations
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during the planning phase to prevent field delays
