About The Position

Consulting Operations Training Instructor at Beaver Valley Power Station. This role involves applying the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process to implement and deliver training in accredited programs. The instructor will develop and conduct Operations training for accredited licensed operating training programs, creating and presenting training materials in classroom, plant, and simulator settings. Responsibilities include performing training analysis, designing and developing training material, examining, remediating, and evaluating student performance, and maintaining appropriate records. The role also ensures SAT satisfaction as per INPO ACAD documents, oversees Accreditation Objectives and Criteria, and interfaces with INPO and NRC as needed. The instructor will interact professionally with other station departments and outside agencies to ensure quality training, obtain and maintain Senior Reactor Operator Certification, and perform Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Operations or Operations Training in the nuclear industry is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management across the plant's organization.
  • Must possess the coordinator skills necessary to independently schedule various training courses for multiple station departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
  • Westinghouse PWR experience strongly preferred.
  • Holding or having previously held a RO or SRO license or certification preferred.
  • Holding or having previously held an INPO instructor certification is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Applying the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process in implementing and delivering training in accredited programs.
  • Developing and conducting Operations training for accredited licensed operating training programs.
  • Developing and presenting of training materials for Nuclear Operations Training programs in the classroom, plant, and simulator settings.
  • Performing training analysis and designing and developing training material in accordance with applicable administrative procedures.
  • Examining, remediating, and evaluating student performance during training and evaluation activities and maintaining appropriate records.
  • Ensuring the SAT is satisfied as described in the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) ACAD documents.
  • Overseeing of Accreditation Objectives and Criteria for assigned programs, including interfacing with INPO and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) as required.
  • Interacting professionally with other station departments and outside agencies to ensure quality training is provided.
  • Obtain and maintain a Senior Reactor Operator Certification.
  • Performing Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned.
