The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs those duties related to the administration of radioactive materials, maintaining high professional standards at all times with attention to customer service, patient care and the production of high quality exams. This role involves operating various computer systems for imaging, analysis, order entry, billing, and data processing, as well as handling radiation detection equipment safely. The technologist is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment, accurately logging patient procedures, and providing age-appropriate care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. They perform Nuclear Medicine studies according to departmental procedures, ensuring the quality and accuracy of images, and correctly charging for exams. Additionally, the role includes performing computer analysis of patient studies and assigned quality control procedures.
