This position performs a variety of technical procedures that requires the use of independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative. Nuclear Medicine Instrumentation includes but not limited to - Use of gamma cameras (both planar and SPECT), PET, Radiation detectors/counters, dose calibrators, and the Quality Control of all equipment. Radiation Safety Practices/Handling includes but not limited to - Safe administration of Radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies, knowledge about patient and occupational exposures, dosimetry, safety techniques that include time, distance, shielding, and ALARA. NRC guidelines pertaining to handling, administering, and transportation of radioactive materials. Radiopharmacy includes but not limited to - Preparation, measurement, administration, and application of radiopharmaceuticals for Diagnostic and/or Therapeutic purposes. As well as the regulations pertaining to these duties.
