About The Position
This is a Talent Pool posting for all MRT, Nuclear Medicine vacancies. UHN is Canada’s #1 hospital and a leading research hospital. The Molecular Imaging team is comprised of medical radiation technologists, radiopharmacists, radiologists, cardiologists and physicians who all work together to provide the best patient care. The Nuclear Medicine department has a history of innovation, being the first to participate in the administration of Yttrium 90 Therasphere, use Radium-223 to treat prostate cancer, perform Lutathera Lu-177 treatment for neuroendocrine tumours, and has the highest number of PET scans in Ontario. UHN is committed to ongoing education, quality assurance, innovation, research, and excellence in patient care, and is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and the Michener Institute of Education.
Requirements
- CMRITO registration
- Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
- Related technologist experience in a hospital environment, an asset
- Effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making including an ability to respond to changing and emergent situations
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team

Responsibilities
- Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to perform nuclear medicine procedures using advanced systems and equipment in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures
- Provide exceptional care to patients, families and caregivers while adhering to Medical Imaging department and UHN policies and best practices
- Effectively communicate with inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teams
- Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting
- Participate in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring, as required
- Coordinate daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases, as required
