Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program for nuclear medicine.
  • Knowledge and technical competence with nuclear equipment and procedures.
  • Training in radiation safety, operation of equipment, preparation, handling, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to improvise standard procedures.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, making decisions and directing work and patient flow to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarization with ECG monitoring and ability to identify/detect abnormal ECG readings.
  • NMTCB or ARRT(N) and Arizona CNMT required prior to start date.
  • Basic Life Support Certification required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date.
  • Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) Competency.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One (1) year nuclear radiology experience (including clinical experience) preferred.
  • Experience with computers preferred.
  • NCT and/or PET preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and administers radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
  • Operates nuclear imaging equipment to produce quality diagnostic images for review and interpretation.
  • Maintains mandatory records established by the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency (ARRA).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development across the life span.
  • Assesses patient data and interprets information relative to age-specific needs.
