The Nuclear Medicine Technologist works under general supervision and performs diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice. Procures, prepares, administers radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications in accordance with the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Scope of Practice. Always ensures medication security. May perform procedures on the neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.
Requirements
- Works under general supervision.
- Performs diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice.
- Procures, prepares, administers radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications in accordance with the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Scope of Practice.
- Ensures medication security.
- May perform procedures on the neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.
Responsibilities
- Prepares measures and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapeutic studies.
- Performs and assists with nuclear medicine studies.
- Responsible for patient safety protocols.
- Maintains all federal, state, local and regulatory agency requirements.
- Participates in CQI activities.

This program is for attaining the following degrees: Bachelor’s: BSN, Chemistry, Medical Technology or Science. Master’s: MSN, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Physical Therapy doctorate.
- Employees may have their loans Forgiven if they continue eligible employment for 12 months after completion of the term for which the loan was given
