About The Position

Ascension Sacred Heart Bay is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join their PET Imaging department. This full-time, day shift position involves operating cameras to detect and map radioactive drugs for diagnostic imaging, positioning patients, preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring high-quality image submission to PACS, maintaining equipment, and assisting in keeping the department clean and orderly.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Certified Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
Position patients and select accurate anatomic and technical factors.
Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, verifying image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history.
Ensure equipment is properly functioning, report potential problems or equipment malfunction, and lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
