About The Position
UPMC Bradford Specialty Clinic and UPMC Kane are seeking a casual Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a float position between the two locations. Hours vary based on operational needs, offering a flexible work schedule. The technologist performs nuclear medicine examinations, supports patient care and communication, maintains accurate exam and radiopharmaceutical records, and completes equipment quality control checks. Candidates must graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program or meet NMTCB alternate eligibility criteria. ARRT(N) or CNMT registry eligibility is required, with registry obtained within 12 months of hire. CPR or BLS certification is required; CPR must meet AHA standards that include a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. For work at a New York facility, the technologist must hold ARRT or NMTCB certification and New York State Department of Health licensure.

Responsibilities
- Interact with patients and coworkers with care, active listening, dignity, and respect, and work collaboratively across departments to expedite patient care.
- Communicate instructions clearly, explain procedures, help allay patients’ fears, and solicit their cooperation.
- Ensure exams are properly coded and tracked in the RIS system, networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and charged appropriately.
- Maintain records of the receipt, use, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Identify patients using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol when performing procedures.
- Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols to optimize data acquisition.
- Document patient history in the electronic record as required.
- Calculate, measure, and record patient doses according to departmental policy and Radiation Safety Guidelines.
- Perform nuclear medicine examinations proficiently and produce technically optimal results.
- Perform quality control checks on imaging and non-imaging equipment to ensure proper performance and function.
