Requirements

Completion of a nuclear medicine program or degree.
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) within one (1) year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.

Nice To Haves

Experience in nuclear medicine.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

Articulate a precise understanding of how data flows in and out of the modality work area.
Be attentive to patient satisfaction results and collaborate with the management team on ways to improve the department in general and the facility overall.
Seek ways to improve systems and services.
Assist with the education and instruction of student technologists and all others rotating through the area to learn.
Demonstrate ability to meet and sustain departmental expectations while completing Nuclear Medicine work assignments in an ethical manner.
Maintain integrity of equipment with careful manipulation at all times.
Adhere to NRC and state safety regulations and standards.
Demonstrate ability to perform routine quality controls for imaging equipment and radioactivity assaying devices.
Assist the Medical Physicist in performing additional quality assurance testing as needed.
Administer nonradioactive pharmaceuticals required in conjunction with nuclear medicine imaging, according to hospital and facility procedures, under the guidance of the Radiologist.
Demonstrate sustained ability when interacting with patients, to follow the AIDET principles (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Expectation, and Thank You).
Ensure confidentiality of all patient information is maintained.
May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
