About The Position

Reporting to the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for performing a full range of in vivo and in vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and related chemical substances. This role involves providing quality patient care, including timely patient throughput and exam performance. The technologist operates and performs quality control on stationary and portable scintillation equipment such as gamma cameras, Geiger-Mueller counters, well counters, dose calibration devices, and ancillary equipment. They also perform PET, Nuc Med, and CT diagnostic studies on PET/CT scanners, which includes injecting CT Contrast Media, image acquisition, and reformatting. A key responsibility is performing necessary scans and procedures to qualify scanners for research trials. The incumbent will create and program study-specific protocols for administration, imaging, and reformatting under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor and Medical Director. The position requires working On-Call.

Requirements

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Must be able to provide on-call/call-back service as needed
  • Minimum one year, full-time experience working as a CNMT
  • Knowledge of State regulatory radiation safety practices and the principles of ALARA
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
  • Current and active State of California CNMT License
  • Current and active NMTCB and/or AART (N) licensure for Nuclear Medicine
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year, full time experience performing Nuclear Medicine procedures
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
