About The Position

Nuclear Medicine at UHN has been a pioneer in several advanced treatments and procedures, including being the first to participate in the administration of Yttrium 90 Therasphere for hepatocellular carcinoma, the first in Ontario to use Radium-223 for prostate cancer, and the first to perform Lutathera Lu-177 treatment for neuroendocrine tumours. The PET imaging department performs the highest number of PET scans in Ontario and is one of three sites in southern Ontario to perform PET Rubidium myocardical scans. Requirements

CMRITO registration
Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
Related technologist experience in a hospital environment, an asset
Effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize work
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making including an ability to respond to changing and emergent situations
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team

Responsibilities

Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to perform nuclear medicine procedures using advanced systems and equipment in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures
Provide exceptional care to patients, families and caregivers while adhering to Medical Imaging department and UHN policies and best practices
Effectively communicate with inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teams
Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting
Participate in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring, as required
Coordinate daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases, as required
