About The Position

This position is responsible for producing general nuclear medicine and PET/CT images for medical interpretation and administering diagnostic and therapeutic radioactive isotopes. This includes relaying instructions to patients, following procedure protocols, injecting radioactive isotopes, acquiring images, processing images, reviewing images for accuracy, and ensuring image quality by performing equipment QA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Successful completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine Program.
  • Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT and/or NMTCB).
  • Must obtain the Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License before the start date
  • CT Advanced Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or NMTCB must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Acquires general nuclear medicine and PET/CT images.
  • Reviews images for accuracy and processes for medical interpretation.
  • Maintains the daily workflow in the Nuclear Medicine and PET departments
  • Prepares the patient for assigned procedures (i.e., establishes IV access, administers radioisotopes, and adjunct medication).
  • Administers diagnostic and therapeutic radioactive isotopes
  • Communicates effectively with patients, coworkers, and physicians through written and verbal communication.
  • Performs quality assurance on nuclear medicine and PET/CT equipment.
  • Performs other duties as required.
