About The Position

Envision Imaging seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at our North Arlington, TX location. This PRN (As-Needed) position involves preparing and administering radioactive isotopes for therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using various radioisotope equipment. The technologist will detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies using a camera to produce images and calculate doses to be administered.

Requirements

  • Two plus years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine
  • Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
  • Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
  • Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation
  • Strong communication skills & professional demeanor
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certification.
  • Registry in Nuclear Medicine (N) or (CNMT)
  • Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
  • Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
  • Performs nuclear medicine and/or PET scans while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
  • Maintains record of receipt and disposal of radioactive materials. Manages radioactive disposables for proper decay and disposal.
  • Performs injections of radioisotope and orders radioisotopes for next day’s exams.
  • Transfers images to other locations as needed.
  • Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
  • Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
  • Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
