About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Woodbridge, Virginia This is a Flexi, Rotating shift opportunity The Nuclear Medicine Technologis t performs all diagnostic Nuclear Medicine Technologist I responsibilities in addition to the following: Therapies, dual modality NM/CT, Lymphoscintigraphy, or hospital based / standing ED. Performs to all quality control and quality assurance standards as prescribed by all state, federal, and local agencies. Provide the best patient care and practice radiation safety standards at all times. Conducts general Nuclear Medicine imaging of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology. Competent in preperation, dose management and administration of radiopharmceuticals, radioisotopes , operation of radiation producing equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment, provides patient and family education and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination procedure and discharge instructions to patient and completes departmental documentation. Complies with all radioactive activity monitoring and documentation. Performs to all quality control and quality assurance standards as prescribed by all state, federal, and local agencies. Intravenous (IV) Competency required. Provides quality MRI Imaging to patients under the direction of a supervising physician with adherence to the required protocol standards. Duties may include but are not limited to: Administration of MRI contrast per protocol, Evaluates and approves patient MRI safety screening form prior to patient entering scanner, Knowledge of MRI safety zones and other safety regulations. Reviews patient records for accuracy and evaluating all implants and devices through vendor resources. Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel. Maintaining patient. records, reports, and files. performs patient MRI exam per protocol, reviews imaging for accuracy and quality prior to sending for interpretation. examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation. Requirements

Trade School degree in Radiologic Technology or Bachelor's in Nuclear Medicine or related field required.
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT)
Registry-eligible graduates in lieu of ARRT or CNMT must be registered within one year of hire.
Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within 2 years of hire.
