About The Position

Performs general nuclear medicine examinations, including on call services, therapeutic procedures, and PET/CT patient exams in a hospital-based, acute care environment.

Requirements

• Graduate of a CAHEA accredited program or equivalent.
• ARRT certification in nuclear medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB).
• American Heart Association BLS.

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year post-graduate work experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs nuclear medicine quality control measures, patient exams, and procedures as requested by the medical staff.
• Assists the Radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures.
• Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures.
• Completes documentation for all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
• Verifies written/electronic orders and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of NM exams and procedures.
• Participates in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the hospital quality indicators as described in the strategic plan.
• Completes appropriate documentation for the administration, receipt/return, decay, and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance with state and/or federal regulations.
