In this role, under the supervision of a qualified physician, The Nuclear Medicine Technologist shall be responsible for all aspects of patient exam activities of the Nuclear Medicine Department; operating nuclear scanning equipment, performing diagnostic studies, and measuring and preparing concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas to obtain diagnostic information; maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of radionuclides for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. This is a per diem day shift position for one day per week (minimum of 3 shifts per month), scheduled Monday through Friday. Flexibility with variable start times is required. This position is located at 1980 Crompond Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567 within the NYP–Hudson Valley Hospital Radiology–Nuclear Medicine Department.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine technology usually obtained by completion of an accredited and approved Nuclear Medicine Program or graduate of Committee of Allied Health and Accreditation (AMA) Accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program or equivalent
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Nuclear Medicine License/Registration by New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH)
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certifying Board (NMTCB)
