The Nuclear Medicine technologist performs a variety of diagnostic procedures and therapeutic treatments with radioactive materials and electronic department equipment in accordance with established procedures and standards. Operates scanning equipment and uploads to the digital imaging archive (PACS), prepares patient room, and maintains the supplies, medications and equipment of the Hot Lab. The technologist is responsible for ensuring patient safety, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing exceptional patient-centered care while supporting the mission and values of the organization. Practices established radiation safety precautions and is proficient in use of radiation survey equipment. Prepares daily schedule and orders radiopharmaceuticals for the next day of service in general nuclear medicine and the PET service. Rotates between the nuclear medicine sites and covers call hours when scheduled.
