About The Position

Serves in the lead capacity for the Nuclear Medicine Department. Provides guidance and technical assistance, calculating and administering radioactive materials for a variety of imaging procedures; monitors adherence to guidelines for record keeping and quality control; interacts effectively with imaging and medical/clinical staff, patients and other customers. Provides constructive direction and support to nuclear medicine interns. Serves in a formal preceptor role to onboard new employees. Demonstrates flexibility and assists with scheduling and staffing including weekend, holidays and call coverage (where applicable). Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years SPECT imaging experience is required
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology is required
  • Ability and demonstrated competence in IV insertion
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of nuclear medicine exams including but not limited to techniques, principles, equipment, and rationale behind the procedures performed
  • Must be able to guide and supervise
  • Certification through the NMTCB or ARRT is required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Five years of SPECT imaging experience is preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology preferred
